Homemade Dog Biscuits (with rice flour)

                              

Last night I really wanted to bake something, but I also don't want to eat any sweets right now, so I decided to make something for Cookie.

I did a search for dog biscuits and this recipe I found was one of the simplest and I also knew I had all ingredients on hand.


The only thing i did differently was use Rice Flour instead of whole wheat.

I only used 3/4 of the dough last night (that filled up my baking sheet), and I just stored the rest in the fridge. I'll probably make up the rest tomorrow.

Memorial Day Weekend

Getting back into blogging....

I know, I know, I've said that before, but I really mean it this time.

Today caught up on housework, but I still have a lot to do tomorrow...ugh!!

This weekend was great. Saturday we went to a party with all of the people who were on the Holy Land trip with us, and we had a great time. Sunday, after Mass we went to my moms and hung out with her and my brother who had his two dogs with him (Zion & Kia), and since we had Cookie with us it made for an interesting visit. It was still fun though! On  Monday once Paul got home from golfing we went for a walk by a lake near our library with Cookie (pics below), got lunch, then napped, watched Bridge on the River Kwai, had dinner and went to bed.  I'm sure people assume that since it's just the two of us, we spend time like that all the time, but we really don't, so yesterday was a much needed relax with your sweetie kinda day!!

Afternoon Walk

It rained really hard all day yesterday, but today it was beautiful, so this afternoon Cookie and I went for a walk. I took some pictures along the way, and some back at the house.

I really thought I'd have some pictures of the Holy Land up by now, but we ended up spending most of the weekend catching up on sleep. So consequently yesterday was spent doing laundry, cleaning house, grocery shopping, and I finally went to pick up Miss Cookie!

I would have picked her up sooner, but we got home late on Friday, and I knew we'd want time to recover on Saturday, and the shop is closed on Sundays. I really did miss her while we were gone, and the couple days we were home I missed her more. Now some may think this is pretty ridiculous (given that she is a dog), but I got teary-eyed when I picked her up. She was so sweet when I held her, she gave kisses, and just laid on my shoulder like a little baby. We're glad she's home!

Anyhow, back to the pictures. I will be too busy to get them done today & Wednesday, but Thursday is the day I am dedicating to the task!

Monday Morning

This morning I took Cookie to the groomers, then headed back home to wait for someone to come fix the microwave. They just came out a couple months ago for the turn table, this time the microwave wont generate any heat. :/

I wanted to watch tv sooooo BAD while I was waiting. I just sat there thinking about the shows sitting on my DVR waiting for me. I decided it'd be better to just turn on the radio & clean the kitchen. Yes, a much better idea!

Microwave is back in service, YAY!! I missed it so much!

This weekend I had the WORST allergy attack I've had in years, so I spent most all of yesterday in bed. I guess it really helps to take meds, sleep, and repeat. I'm feeling great today as far as allergies go, a little sluggish though, so I think it's nap time, then pick up Cookie, once I bring her home I can go for a much needed run.

Meet-up

Have you heard of Meetup.com?

It's a website where you can joins groups or organizations that people have created, such as book clubs, charity events, or workout groups. I can't remember how I found it, but once I checked it out I knew I wanted to create my own group so that I could hopefully make some new friends in my area.

I have lived in the OC for 6-7 years, but I spend most of my free time with my family, who lives 45min - 1hr away. I love seeing my family often, but it would be nice to call someone up who only lives minutes away and meet for lunch, etc...

The group I set up is for people with little dogs. The idea is to arrange meet-ups at dog parks, go for walks, and meet new people. So far we've had 2 meet-ups, last week was a dog park, and today was a walk & lunch. Only 2 people showed up to the dog park, but I still had a great time and the ladies there were really fun to talk to. Today 4 people showed, and everyone was great. We went for a long walk around the park (it's really big) with our furry friends, and once they were worn out we headed over to the cafe inside the park to grab a bite. I had never eaten there and I was surprised how good the food was....yum, sweet potato fries!!!

I think starting this was a great idea! I may not always be a main part of the conversation, but I really enjoy listening to the conversations going on and listening to all the different opinions or experiences. If you ask any member of my family, all I do is talk, but when I'm in a group I don't know well, I'm happy just to listen.

Poor Baby!!

As of today there will be no puppies in Cookie's future. The picture is from the car ride home from the Vets office.

The look in her eyes when I picked her up told me she was still really out of it.

It was weird having her just lie limp in my arms, normally she so hyper she hardly stays still, but since she's been home all she's done is sleep. She did wake up at one point, she walked around and whined in a freaked out kind of way (just for a bit), then she went right back to sleep.

I can't wait to see how she handles the cone on her head once she's fully alert. I'm sure she'll love it! haha!!

Good Girl COOKIE!!

4 Months Old

I don't think I mentioned it but we ended up naming our pup Cookie, with her coloring and just how cute she is I kept coming back to that name, and it fits her perfectly.

Now that she has all her shots she gets to go on lots of walks and last week I took her to the groomers. I was a little shocked at what she looked like when I picked her up, but it's now growing on me, and I think she likes it, I would like her hair to grow out though. Notice (pic below) that she even has green bows for St. Patrick's Day.

Our New Addition

On Wednesday afternoon Paul & I brought home a new family member, a little Cockapoo. She's only 9 weeks old and very tiny, she's also a lot of work! :)

We haven't officially named her yet but we're working on it & if after looking at her pictures you have any ideas let me know.

She sure is fun, and super cute, and we're really enjoying her.
